The Coal-Fired Ramblers, a traditional bluegrass ensemble from Schuylkill County, PA, proudly represents the Anthracite Coal Region's distinctive cultural heritage. This dynamic group of musicians, united by familial bonds and friendships, is driven by a shared passion for bluegrass music. The Coal-Fired Ramblers' original compositions reflect their deep connection to local history and culture, addressing themes such as trains, pioneers, hard times, and coal mining. *In 2023 our band successfully completed a professional studio recording at SI Studios in Old Forge, PA and produced our first album called “Long Journey Home”
* The Coal-Fired Ramblers' music is available on major digital download platforms, including iTunes, Pandora, YouTube, and many more
* In 2024, we had the privilege of having our recorded music played on the 'Bluegrass Horizons' show on WDVR FM radio in Sergeantsville, NJ
*In August 2024, our band was invited to perform live on WDVR FM Radio’s 'Live from the Blacksmith Shop' show
* We performed at two prominent bluegrass festivals in 2024, in addition to smaller regional and private music festivals
* Over the past few years our group has organized multiple volunteer performances for charity events, supporting organizations such as the Lions Club, Volunteer Fire Company, churches, and community events
* Our music features original compositions on topics such as Engine 113, Daniel Boone, coal mining in East PA, the hanging of the Molly McGuires, Bill Monroe's Baseball Teams, the life and service of a local veteran, and the Battle of Lexington
* We uniquely represent our regional coal mining heritage and history through bluegrass music
* We have established a committed presence on social media and the internet, including our own website
*In March 2025 we completed our second album with 8 original songs titled, “All Anthracite, No Rock!”
*Our band will be competing in the 2025 Band Competition sponsored by Telefunken Microphone at the Podunk Bluegrass Festival in Goshen, CT
